In Independence, Missouri, soon after midnight, Nelson passed away, according to KCTV. Around 12:20 a.m. CST, Nelson was driving an eastbound Chevrolet on 23rd Street when he crashed into a railroad bridge west of Noland Road, as reported by WDAF-TV.

According to Independence Police, the deadly event happened on December 11 at 12:20 a.m. Daniel Nelson was traveling on 23rd Street when he struck a railroad bridge. Sadly, at the scene, he was declared dead.
Nelson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident, according to Independence Police. According to the news station, law enforcement believes drinking may have contributed to the incident, but the investigation is still underway.
At the time of his death, he was 43 years old.
