Know more about Dalton Alan Weise and his cause of death as the 14-year-old professional bull rider from South Carolina tragically passed away on Wednesday

Born on February 3, 2010, Dalton was an active rodeo participant. He completed in associations like the NHSRA, SCHSRA, and SJBRA.
Born in North Charleston, South Carolina to J.D. Weise and Amanda Brewer Weise, Dalton was a beloved son, student, and athlete. The youngster excelled academically, earning honors and membership in the Junior Beta Club at Berkeley High School.
Dalton, who was a dedicated member of Freedom Church, began his rodeo journey at the Shady Acres Rodeo. Recently, he was ranked 9th in the world in the Wrangler Youth Bull Riding competition.
Career
As aforesaid, Dalton’s career was marked by various outstanding achievements. Previously, he earned two-time title of Bareback Riding Champion and Reserve Bull Riding Champion.
Outside of rodeo, Dalton was passionate about grappling and wrestling. At Black Force MMA, he earned multiple gold medals, and as an 8th grader, he won the Lower State Championship with Berkeley Wrestling.
Dalton also enjoyed supporting his favorite sports teams, the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Green Bay Packers.
Family
Dalton is survived by his parents, J.D. Weise, Amanda Brewer Weise, his sister, Madisyn Weise, his brother, Craig Weise, his grandparents Bonnie and Todd Brewer, Sophia Atkinson, Dodie Weise, Johnny Weise, and several great-grandparents.
Obituary
Dalton’s obituary describe him as a “vibrant 9th-grade student at Berkeley High School and a beloved member of his community, excelling both academically and in extracurricular activities.”
As per his obituary, Dalton “passed away at his residence on the evening of Wednesday, September 11.” While no cause of death has been revealed, the reference to mental health alludes towards suicide.
Weise was interested in combat sports, bull riding, and wrestling. He competed in numerous bull riding competitions across the United States and internationally and won championships and was the no.3 ranked bull rider in the world.
Funeral
His funeral services will reportedly take place on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at around 1:00 p.m. at the Freedom Church, where he was a member. Followed by his burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dial-Murray Funeral Home.
