Who is Sridhar Babu?
Sridhar Babu is an Indian politician associated with the Indian National Congress. He has been in the news because he was recently chosen as minister of industries and information technology of Telangana.
His full name is Duddilla Sridhar Babu. He was born on 30 May 1969, in Manthani, Telangana. His father is D. Sripada Rao, a former Andhra Pradesh Assembly speaker from the Indian National Congress. He also has five siblings.
After completing his schooling, he attended the University of Delhi and did his B.A.L.L.B. there. Later, he went on to do an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Hyderabad. He is married to Shailaja Ramaiyer, who is an officer in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of Telangana Cadre. The couple has two children.

His career
Sridhar Babu began his legal career at the High Court of Andhra Pradesh. But in 1999, after the terrible Naxalite killing of his father, he quickly entered politics. His determination to continue his father’s work prompted him to concentrate on the locality of Karimnagar’s Manthani constituency’s developmental requirements.
He has been in politics for several periods, having won several elections on the Congress platform, held ministerial positions in several cabinets, and served as president of the Karimnagar district party. He became Telangana’s IT Minister after his recent triumph in the 2023 elections.
