On Tuesday, the Karnataka Government made the decision to transfer D Roopa, a senior IPS officer, along with IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri, following a public spat between the two women. The new posting of the transferred officers has not been disclosed by the government.

Roopa, who also serves as the Managing Director of the Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation, had initially taken to social media to share personal pictures of Rohini Sindhuri.
Roopa claimed that Sindhuri had violated service conduct rules by sending her photographs to several male IAS officers. However, Sindhuri vehemently denied these allegations, stating that Roopa was motivated by personal animosity.
The disagreement between the two senior officers became so heated that both submitted petitions to Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma, calling for action to be taken against the other, and offering explanations for their respective stances. Ultimately, the Karnataka Government deemed it necessary to transfer both officers, which surprised many.

IPS D Roopa is a well-known Indian bureaucrat. She has been in the news because she was recently transferred after involving in a public spat with IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri.
Her full name is Roopa Divakar Moudgil. She was born in Davanagere, Karnataka. Her father’s name is J. S. Diwakar, who is a retired engineer and her mother’s name is Hemavathi. She also has one younger sister named Rohini Divakar who is an IRS officer of the 2008 batch.
After completing her schooling, she did her graduation from Kuvempu University Karnataka. Later, she did a post-graduation MA in psychology from Bangalore University. Additionally, she is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer.
IAS D Roopa is married, and her husband’s name is Munish Moudgil, who is also an IAS officer. They both are the parents of two children named Anagha Moudgil and Rushil Moudgil.
Her career
IAS D Roopa cleared her UPSC exam with All-India-rank 43 in 2000. She underwent training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad, where she was ranked 5th in her batch and was allotted to the Karnataka Cadre.
Soon after the training, Roopa was posted as Superintendent of police (SP) in Dharwad district, north Karnataka. She also served as SP in Gadag district, Bidar, and finally in Yadgir district, before she moved to Bengaluru.
IAS D Roopa created history in 2013 by becoming the first lady police officer in the nation to head the Cyber-Crime police station/division.
In addition to her professional achievements, IAS D Roopa has been invited to speak at several TEDx conferences in India, sharing her expertise and experiences with audiences.
Apart from this, she has pursued a passion for music and has lent her voice to Kannada cinema as a playback singer. Notably, she contributed to the soundtrack of the Kannada film Bayalaatada Bheemanna, which featured the popular actor Ravichandran.
Currently, IAS D Roopa is serving as the Managing Director of the Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation.
