Melissa Hoskins was an Australian road and track cyclist who was born on February 24, 1991, in Kalamunda, Western Australia, Australia. The 32-year-old stood 175 cm (5 ft 9 in) tall.

Hoskins was a track cyclist who focused on endurance competitions. After competing in a Western Australian Institute of Sport talent discovery event, she began track cycling at the age of fifteen. When she was sixteen years old, she began cycling competitively.
Both the Western Australian Institute of Sport and the Australian Institute of Sport gave her a cycling scholarship. She was a member of the Northern Districts Cycling Club.
During a stellar career spanning five global medals, Hoskins broke the world record in the team pursuit event at the 2015 Track Cycling World Championships. In addition, she participated in two Olympics, just missing out on a medal in London 2012.
