In his social media post, Qadir wrote, “Today, I am announcing my retirement from Pakistan cricket,” while adding that his “journey has been unforgettable, and I am deeply grateful.”
About Usman Qadir
Born on August 10, 1993, Qadir hails from a cricketing family, being the son of legendary Pakistani legspinner Abdul Qadir. As per media reports, Qadir’s brothers Rehman and Sulaman, and his uncle Ali Bahadur have all played first-class cricket.
Despite his initial interest in playing for Australia, Qadir eventually represented Pakistan. He made his T20I debut in 2020 against Zimbabwe.
In addition, Qadir made his ODI debut in April 2021 against South Africa. In the same year, he was named as a reserve player for Pakistan’s squad in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Career
Standing at 5 ft. 10 in (178 cm) so far, Qadir appeared in one ODI and 25 T20Is for Pakistan in international cricket. As aforesaid, he made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe, when he took 8 wickets for 60 runs in 3 matches, earning him the Player of the Series award.
His path to international cricket with Pakistan seemed improbable in 2018 when Qadir expressed his desire to play for Australia. He debuted for Western Australia in 2018 and also played for the Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League.
Earlier in his career, he was part of Pakistan’s bronze medal-winning team at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.

In 2018, Qadir married stage and film actress Sobia Khan, and the couple have reportedly four children.
On October 3, 2024, Qadir officially announced his retirement from Pakistan cricket at the age of 31.
