Gharami’s domestic campaign was exceptional.
The 24-year-old battled Andre Russell and the KKR net bowlers for almost 20 minutes. The all-rounder David Wiese and the rising Bengal star switched off shifts in that net.
After the RCB game on April 9, the Knight Riders will go for Ahmedabad to take on the Gujarat Titans (GT).
Once they get back to their environment, KKR, who are usually blamed for overlooking local talent, are expected to summon Gharami.
Sportskeeda has learned that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) would make a choice around April 13 before their home game against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 14.
On the same day that Sudip Gharami started working for KKR, the Kolkata-based team also acquired England’s starting batter Jason Roy for 2.8 crore.
Veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan recently withdrew from the season owing to scheduling conflicts, while Shreyas Iyer is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair his lower back.
Who is Sudip Gharami?
On March 21, 1999, Sudip was born in Naihati, a Bengali neighbourhood in the North 24 Paraganas area.
Being born into an economically lower-middle-class family caused the youngster to struggle considerably during his early years. Despite having been a mason in the past, his father never discouraged his son’s ambition to play cricket.
During a U-23 match between Bengal and Mumbai, when the batter hit 66 runs on a difficult wicket, Sourav Ganguly took note of him and was spotted by the legendary former player.
