19 year old Saumy Pandey is a young Indian cricketer. He has been in the news because his bowling played an important role in India’s victory against Afghanistan in the Under-19 Asia Cup.

He was born and brought up in the Bharatpur village under Rampur Naikin tehsil of Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh. He did his schooling at Rewa Kendriya Vidyalaya Number-1.

His career

At the age of 14, Saumy Pandey first joined the Amber 14 cricket squad in the Rewa division after playing junior cricket. Owing to his outstanding play, he was called up to the Madhya Pradesh cricket team’s Under-14 squad and was appointed captain.

Following this, he saw an improvement in his game, joined the India Under-19 cricket squad, and was given the opportunity to represent his country in the Asia Cup Under-19 cricket tournament, which was held in Dubai.
