Robin Uthappa career
When he scored 66 for India B versus India A in the 2005 Challenger Trophy, Uthappa initially gained public notice. Uthappa’s game-winning 93-ball century against the same team in the same tournament the following year helped launch him into the major leagues.
He had previously played for the India Under-19 squad that took home the Asia Cup. Previously a wicket-keeper batter, he is now considered a limited overs cricket specialist due to his List A batting average of close to 40 and strike rate of roughly 90.
In January 2007, he was called up to the ODI team for the West Indies series. He was absent from the first two games.
