Mohammad Amir is a well-known Pakistani cricketer. He has been in the news because he recently came out of retirement from international cricket after declaring it in 2021.
He was born on 13th April 1992 in Gujar Khan, Pakistan. His father’s name is Raja Mohammad and, his mother’s name is Naseem Akter. He also has 6 siblings, including Ijaz, however, not much is known about the others.
Mohammad Amir is married and his wife is Narjis Khatun, a British-Pakistani woman. The couple has two daughters named Minsa Amir and Zoya Amir.

His career
Mohammad Amir is well-known for his skills as a left-handed batter and left-arm fast bowler. His career started with his debut in first-class cricket in November 2008. Amir’s ability was immediately apparent, as he was instrumental in Pakistan’s victory in the 2009 ICC World Twenty20.
However, on August 29, 2010, he became involved in a spot-fixing incident that resulted in a five-year suspension for purposefully bowling without hitting a ball, a move that severely damaged his career.
Mohammad Amir suffered the repercussions, including a brief period of jail with his co-conspirators Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif, despite his admission of guilt and public confession. However, Amir’s early return to domestic cricket on January 29, 2015, raised hopes for atonement and suggested a possible comeback.
His participation in various leagues, including the Bangladesh Premier League with the Chittagong Vikings, demonstrated his intent to rebuild his career. Once again recognizing his potential, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave him a central contract for the 2018–19 campaign.
However, Mohammad Amir’s path took a different turn on July 26, 2019, when he decided to give up Test cricket in favor of limited-overs forms. Amir declared his retirement from international cricket on 17th December 2020. However, he announced his retirement from international cricket for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Amir consistently clocked speeds of 140-145 kilometres per hour (90 miles per hour) and bowled his quickest delivery in the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 final at 152 kmph.
