Jewel Andrew is an Antiguan cricketer who was born on December 7, 2006, and plays for the Leeward Islands cricket team at the West Indian domestic level. He mainly plays as a right-handed batsman, and can also play as a wicket-keeper. Andrew has a brother named Hillary and grew up under the care of their single mother Veronique Hill who helped propel his career despite raising him in tough conditions. Information about Jewel’s father isn’t known.
Veronique sold bags to make ends meet and faced financial difficulties but with the help of friends and donations from a local sports club, Jewel was able to pursue his passion as contributions from former players ensured that the club could provide him with equipment, including bats and other essentials.
His first cricket coach was Abuda Barnes. Having started to play from when he was four years old and inspired by Shai Hope, Jewel Andrew officially became the youngest West Indian cricketer to make his ODI debut at 17 years and 324 days old.

Upcoming teenage starlet Jewel Andrew recently made his ODI debut, and became the youngest player to represent the West Indies to do so at the young age of 17. Career and stats
So far into his short career, Jewel has played for the Leeward Islands at the domestic level from 2023 till present. He has also joined the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons earlier this year. Back in August 2023, Andrew played for the West Indies under-19 cricket team’s squad for their tour of Sri Lanka. Following which he also got named in the West Indies squad for the 2024 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, which took place in South Africa. During the opening match of the World Cup, Jewel scored an impressive 130 runs from 96 balls against South Africa.
