The captain made a significant change when he replaced South African spinner Gerald Coetzee in the MI starting XI with Anshul Kamboj.

The 23-year-old all-rounder made his IPL 2024 debut on May 6 against Pat Cummins’ Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 55th match of the competition. The player was even praised by R Ashwin. On his YouTube channel with analyst Prasanna Agoram; he said:

Who is Anshul Kamboj?

Anshul Kamboj is an Indian cricketer from Haryana who was born on December 6, 2000 and is currently 23 year olds. The all-rounder currently plays for Indian Premier League side Mumbai Indians and Haryana Cricket Team.

He has participated in Nine Twenty20 matches so far, and he has taken 11 wickets and scored 22 runs. Despite not having played much batting in the white-ball formats, the player has an average of 18.93 in first-class cricket with a top score of 46.

In every format, Kamboj made his senior debut in the 2022–2023 domestic season. He was acquainted with the India U19 lineup having participated in two earlier youth Test matches in 2019.

He has played 13 first-class games, 14 List A games, and nine T20s so far, having taken 24, 23, and 11 wickets in those formats. He bowls right-arm medium pace and can bowl in the 130-140 kmph range.
