The search for Charlotte Sena, a 9-year-old girl who went missing during a camping trip at Moreau Lake Park in upstate New York, concluded on a positive note when she was safely located with Craig Ross Jr now arrested
On the 29th of September, Charlotte Sena disappeared while riding her bike in a wooded area. On the following Sunday, authorities suspected abduction and issued an Amber Alert, mobilizing over a thousand individuals, including law enforcement and volunteers, to comb the area in search of the missing girl.

Who’s Craig Ross Jr?
In the early hours of Monday, the Sena family received a ransom note in their mailbox, leading the police to the suspect, Craig Ross Jr, who resides on Barrett Road in Milton. Shortly afterward, Charlotte was found unharmed and safe inside a cabinet within a trailer on property owned by Ross’s relatives on Barrett Road in Milton.
The suspect, whose fingerprints were discovered on the ransom note, was subsequently apprehended. He was identified by his fingerprints, which were found on a ransom note that was left at the girl’s family home on Monday and the fingerprints matched a database record from a drunk-driving incident in 1999.
Police identified the suspect as Craig Nelson Ross Jr., 48, and located him at his mother’s property and he was arrested after resisting and the girl was found in a cabinet.
During a press conference held on the 2nd of October, Governor Kathy Hochul of New York announced that the suspect accused of abducting Charlotte Sena was identified as 46-year-old Craig Ross Jr.
Although the motive for the abduction remained unclear, Governor Hochul explained that the suspect was linked to the ransom note through his fingerprints, which were found on the paper. She also noted that Ross had a criminal history dating back to 2016, with his fingerprints on file in law enforcement databases.
Where Exactly Charlotte Sena Found?
Initial reports indicated that Charlotte was found in a trailer on property owned by Ross’s relatives on Barrett Road in Milton, New York. According to property records, this property was owned by Ross’s mother.
During the press conference, Governor Hochul confirmed that the suspect resided in a trailer behind the property, which also housed a “double-wide house” where Ross’s mother lived.
Earlier reports suggested that the suspect was a registered sex offender but later, news agencies’ retracted statement upon discovering that the identity and age did not match the individual involved in the Charlotte Sena case.
In an October 2nd press release, the police stated that Ross was observed in the vicinity of Moreau Lake State Park around the time Charlotte went missing.
Further investigation led to the search of multiple residences where the suspect was known to reside. At approximately 6:32 p.m. on October 2, 2023, the State Police located Charlotte Sena safe and in good health, and the suspect was taken into custody. Authorities have not yet announced the charges against the suspect.
