A suspect who has killed four people in a mass shooting incident at the Louisville Bank, Kentucky is believed to be a former bank employee, as per police, know the age and bio of Connor Sturgeon

‘A gunman opened fire at a bank situated near downtown Louisville, Kentucky, on Monday morning. Four people died and at least eight were sent to the hospital before he died of a gunshot wound at the scene,’ Louisville Metro Police Deputy Chief Paul Humphrey said.

“It is believed that the gunman who has done all this is having an earlier connection with this bank,” he further told.

‘This mass shooting started at Old National Bank that is located on East Main Street around nearly 8:30 a.m. Monday,’ a police official revealed.

According to UA, the suspect has been identified as Connor Sturgeon and attended Alabama from fall 2016 to December 2020 and received a master’s of science in finance.

25-year-old Connor Sturgeon was an employee at Old National Bank in Louisville.

Authorities have not yet released information his possible motive. They described him as a “lone gunman” with a connection to the bank.

A spokesperson for the University confirmed they had been made aware of the shooting and of Sturgeon’s alleged connection to it and they said he received both a bachelor and a masters degree at the University.

UA said Sturgeon took advantage of UA’s Accelerated Master’s Program and earned both a bachelor’s degree in commerce and business administration as well as a master of science degree in finance and reportedly received both degrees simultaneously in December 2020.

The police officers came to the crime scene of the Kentucky shooting within three minutes of being dispatched and also found the shooter still firing in the bank. They exchanged gunfire with the suspect, who died at the crime scene, as per police. It is not yet clear that the suspect was killed by police or he died on his own.

Four people were found dead inside, and eight people were taken to the nearby hospital, including two officers. One of those officers is still in a serious condition.

The shooting was done by an AR-15-style rifle, which is a federal law enforcement source. Kentucky is a “permitless carry” and all gun owners who are above 21 can legally have a gun to carry in public without having a license.

Mayor Craig Greenberg thanked the “brave and heroic” first responders for their actions. “Without any doubt, their quick and mindful actions saved many lives.”

A large police presence in the area as well as shattered glass at the entrance of the Old National Bank is seen in the video which has been recorded.

There have been a total of 145 mass shootings done in the US this year. “The safety of the Old National Bank employees and of everyone who was present there is paramount,” Old National CEO Jim Ryan said.
