According to reports, investigators are even looking to gain access to Stalions’ computer as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Connor Stalions bio
Connor Stalions is an on-field analyst at the University of Michigan and reportedly a retired captain in the United States Marine Corps. He is currently 28 years old and a “person of interest” to the NCAA in the ongoing investigation. According to reports, Stalions spent a lot of time deciphering opponents’ signals as well as watching television copies of their games. Stalions attended the U.S. Naval Academy while both of his parents attended the University of Michigan.
Connor Stalions at the centre of NCAA investigations
Although Connor Stalions works in the recruiting department, he has often appeared on the sidelines during various games. Ever since Michigan suspended him without pay on October 20, 2023, more videos and images have surfaced, showing Stalions on the Michigan sideline alongside various important figures. Moreover, there have been reports stating that Stalions has bought tickets for various games for numerous Michigan opponents. Notably, Stalions bought tickets on both sides of the Ohio Stadium for the Week 8 Penn State vs. Ohio State game, but did not use them after news about the investigation came out.
The Michigan Manifesto
According to Sports Illustrated, Stalions is one of the handful staffers who created a “long-term plan to run the Michigan football program.” Stalions reportedly wrote a document between “550 and 600 pages”, which he “managed daily”. According to reports, Stalions himself referred to the plan as “the Michigan manifesto”. However, with the ongoing investigations, Stalions’ chances of leading the Michigan football program, appears to be shrinking.
Connor Stalions seen at Central Michigan game
The ongoing investigations around Stalions got more twisted after Central Michigan recently confirmed that they are investigating whether Stalions was present on the sidelines during their September 1 season opener against Michigan State. The team circulated various images of a man in sunglasses and a hat alongside Central Michigan’s sideline on social media. They however, were not able to confirm the identity of the figure in any way.
Central Michigan coach Jim McElwain stated:
We obviously are aware of the picture floating around with the sign-stealer guy.”
The recent allegations largely focus on Stalions buying tickets for games of future Michigan opponents to steal signs. However, the news about Stalions attending a game on a team’s sideline could be something major in the investigations.
