Marina Mabrey is a professional basketball player who was born on September 14, 1996, in Belmar, New Jersey. She is currently 28 years old, and she was raised in a basketball-loving family. Mabrey started out playing at an early age, thanks to her older siblings and her mother, who coached local teams.
Patti and Roy Mabrey are Marina Mabrey’s parents and her mother Pati was also a former basketball player and basketball coach in Belmar, New Jersey.
Marina Mabrey has four siblings two brothers, Ryan and Roy, and two sisters, Michaela and Dara Mabrey while she is the middle child in her family, with two older and two younger siblings.
All of Marina’s siblings are basketball players as her oldest brother, Roy, played college basketball at NCAA Division II St. Anselm and made 263 three-pointers. Marina’s older sister, Michaela, scored 228 threes at Notre Dame and later became the director of recruiting for the women’s basketball program at LSU.

Marina Mabrey attended Manasquan High School in New Jersey during her childhood. During her time there, she won two state Tournament of Champions titles as well as co-MVP honors during the 2015 McDonald’s All-American Game. Despite initial hesitation, she eventually chose to follow in her sister Michaela’s footsteps and joined the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
While playing at Notre Dame, Mabrey became one of the school’s most decorated guards and helped the team win the 2018 NCAA Championship.

Marina Mabrey joined the WNBA after getting drafted as the 19th overall pick by the Los Angeles Sparks in 2019. She has since gone on to play for multiple WNBA teams, including the Dallas Wings, Chicago Sky, and now the Connecticut Sun. During her rookie season with the Sparks, Mabrey averaged 4.0 points, while her numbers seemingly reached double digits with Dallas, contributing significantly on both ends.
