The main role is up for grabs, with Peterborough’s Ronnie Edwards and Luton Town’s Gabriel Osho among them. It is said that they are closing in on the 27-year-old South American full-back, Daniel Munoz, an international for Colombia, at right-back.

Hodgson is presumably seeing Munoz as the kind of player who can alter their approach in that position because they have two elderly right-backs in Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne. The Crystal Palace are currently 14th in the English Premier League and are set to face Everton next.

A report in Daily Mail suggets that the Eagles are unlikely to be put off by the £10 million price tag that the Belgian team is willing to pay for the 27-year-old.

Who is Daniel Munoz?

Daniel Muñoz Mejia, a professional football player from Colombia, was born on May 24, 1996 in Amalfi, Colombia. He plays right back for Genk, a club in the Belgian Pro League, and for the Colombia national team. The 27-year-old measures 1.83 m (6 ft 0 in) tall.

In 28 appearances across all competitions this season, the Colombian defender has contributed two assists and seven goals.

Muñoz moved from Atlético Nacional to Genk in May 2020, for a fee of €4.5 million for the move. After being called up to the Colombian national team in September 2019, Munoz was forced to leave the game due to a hamstring injury. Carlos Queiroz summoned him up to the national team once more in March 2020.

In a World Cup qualifying match against Peru on June 3, 2021, he made his debut. In the 56th minute, he replaced Stefan Medina. He committed a foul in less than a minute, and a VAR review upgraded it to a red card. Munoz, who has made 23 appearances for Los Cafeteros since making his international debut back in 2020, has established himself as an important player for Colombia.
