Coleman Wong is a young and upcoming tennis star who was born on June 6, 2004, in Hong Kong. Wong started out on his tennis journey rather by chance, after filling in for his sister Elana, who missed a lesson. He was just five years old back then, but this opportunity turned into a lifelong passion. He was born to a father who works as a school principal and a mother who works as a teacher. Meanwhile, his sister now works in banking.
His father Bruce is a principal while his mother Dora is a teacher and Wong studied at the University of Hong Kong in 2024, taking online classes alongside playing. He began playing tennis aged five when he substituted for his older sister Elana during her tennis lesson while she was sick and aged nine, Wong started playing overseas, winning junior events in China.
He is the highest-ranked male Hong Kong tennis player in history, having cracked the top 300 and later the top 150 in the rankings with his current ranking at 169 while he reached a career high of 128 previously.

Career and achievements
Coleman Wong left his life in Hong Kong and moved to Spain after convincing his parents to train at the prestigious Rafa Nadal Academy. He made the move back in 2021, at the young age of 17, and has since never looked back. Wong enjoyed some major highlights during his junior career, winning the US Open boys’ doubles title in 2021. He also won the Australian Open boys’ doubles title in 2022.
Following which he made his ATP Tour debut in 2024, in Hong Kong. Despite a rough start earlier this year, losing eight of his first 13 matches, Wong turned things around in Miami. He entered the tournament on a wildcard entry, beating Daniel Altmaier in straight sets before stunning 13th seed Ben Shelton in a thrilling three-set match. Notably, Wong became the first male player from Hong Kong to make an ATP Masters 1000 third-round appearance.
