Who is Clement Turpin?
Clement Turpin is French referee who was born on May 16, 1982 at Oullins, France. The 41-year-old stands 1.76 m (5 ft 9 in) tall.

He is a football official from France and in 2010, he became a FIFA listed official, and in 2012, he became a UEFA Elite group referee earning approximately $10,000 per match. While rumors claimed he was the brother of footballer Leandro Trossard due to their similarities in looks, such is not the case.
Clement Turpin has officiated games for FIFA since 2010 and UEFA Elite group matches since 2012. Throughout his officiating career, he has received multiple awards. Additionally, in France, he also teaches physical education. He oversaw games in the World Cup qualifiers in 2014 and 2018.
In May 2016, Turpin was chosen as the best French referee by the French Football Federation. In addition to officiating at the UEFA Euro 2016 in France, he was one of the five UEFA referees for the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament in Brazil that same year.
The next year, Turpin officiated at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in India. Turpin, accompanied by assistant referees Cyril Gringore and Nicolas Danos, was named by FIFA on March 29, 2018, as the tournament’s official referee for the Russia 2018 World Cup.
On July 4, 2020, he presided over the oldest capital derby in Bulgaria between Levski Sofia and Slavia Sofia. On May 26, 2021, he officiated the 2021 UEFA Europa League Final between Villarreal and Manchester United.
Turpin was selected by UEFA to serve as referee for the 2022 UEFA Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Liverpool. In April of that year, Turpin was appointed to work as an official for UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany.
Turpin had already faced Madrid this season in the top men’s club competition in Europe; in October, he officiated the La Liga leaders’ triumph against Napoli in the group round. Since 2010, Turpin has served as a FIFA international match official.
Most famously, Turpin was part of Madrid’s historic 14th European championship win two years ago when Los Merengues defeated Liverpool 1-0 in the Champions League trophy final in Paris.
