Who is Christopher Vivell?
Christopher Vivell is the former technical director of Chelsea FC who is set to join Manchester United as the club’s director of recruitment. He was born on December 15, 1986, in Karlsruhe, Germany. Vivell departed from The Blues last year on July 21 and his move to the Red Devils is said to be a “done deal.”
Vivell will contribute their expertise in finding players and spotting talent. Chelsea was the last company to recruit him. He was once a member of RB Leipzig.
The 37-year-old will temporarily move to Old Trafford and help the Manchester team with their relocation. The last place Vivell worked after leaving Stamford Bridge was at Chelsea, around a year ago.
His tenure at Chelsea lasted barely seven months, from December 2022 to July 2023, after which Todd Boehly fired him due to additional behind-the-scenes changes.

The likes of Patson Daka, Enock Mwepu, Mohamed Camara, Benjamin Sesko and Haaland were all signed by RB Salzburg during Vivell’s time at the club and when he was at RB Leipzig they signed Josko Gvardiol, Dominik Szoboszlai and Mohamed Simakan. After his playing career, Vivell rejoined former club Hoffenheim as an analyst and then as a scout and after five years in those roles he joined RB Salzburg as head of scouting and then moved into the role or sports coordinator.
