Who is Christopher Neely Who Claims To Be Jordan Neelyโs Uncle?
After being detained, Christopher Neely confessed to the police that he was Jordan Neely’s uncle. Jordan was a homeless street performer who sadly died on May 1 in Lower Manhattan following a fatal accident on a tube train.
Charges Against Christopher Neely
The police accused Neely of a number of offences, including unlawful possession of a weapon, bail jumping, criminal possession of stolen property, and resisting arrest. He was initially taken to the 14th police precinct.
The 44-year-old was a prominent criminal with more than 70 prior offences at the time of his arrest on Monday. He also has two active warrants for his arrest.
The following day, Neely argued that Daniel Penny should stand trial, claiming that a plea bargain would be unfair since Penny would have the opportunity to commit similar crimes in the future. Neely also demanded that the two people observed helping Penny restrain his nephew be charged with crimes.
Jordan Neely’s death is the subject of a manslaughter charge against Daniel Penny, who is now free on $100,000 bail. The event was caught on camera, showing Penny restraining Neely with assistance from two other passengers after Neely allegedly threatened and intimidated other passengers.
Insisting on his innocence, Daniel Penny distances himself from racial bias and further claims that he did not act out of hatred or bigotry.
Even if they had nothing to do with the case itself, the circumstances surrounding Christopher Neely’s arrest serve as a reminder of the difficulties that come with high-profile situations.
