His content started being reposted on TikTok by fans in July 2023 but didn’t reach viral status outside of China until mid-August 2024. A video posted by TikTok user, who goes by the name @jiugecoca, marked one of the earliest instances of XiaoPang going viral globally.

In the clip, the owner jokingly blames XiaoPang for knocking over a trash can and a plant, leading to the usual reprimand from his “mom.”

This video alone has garnered over 11.7 million views, 15.1K comments, and 106K shares. With reposted XiaoPang videos gaining popularity, an Instagram account named @xiaopang174 shared a reel, that quickly gained over 100K likes.
