Al-Ain’s victory in the final round clinched the World Rapid Team Championship. Decade China, with World Champion Ding Liren, finished second, while last year’s winners, WR Chess, took bronze. Over three days and 12 rounds, Al-Ain ACMG UAE triumphed with 21 match points, winning nine matches and drawing three. Despite Dubov’s overall poor performance, his crucial win secured first place for Al-Ain and they also won the first prize of 100,000 Euros.
Decade China, the only other unbeaten team, finished second with 20 match points. Led by Ding Liren, the standout player was 26-year-old non-professional Pang Bo, who won all 11 games he played. WR Chess, last year’s champions, took third with 19 match points. Despite having Magnus Carlsen and Ian Nepomniachtchi, they couldn’t overcome early defeats and a draw with Decade China.

Team MGD1 from India, led by Arjun Erigaisi, finished fifth with 17 match points. They remained close to the top but were never true contenders for first place, securing their position with a final victory against the team of FIDE. GMHans.com, led by Hans Niemann, was a surprise performer, finishing ninth after a narrow loss to WR Chess in the final round.
