He was born in the little village of Kemriya-saur in Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal in 1976. His father worked as a farmer.

His career
Early on, Dev Raturi developed a love for movies. Due to this, he fled to Bombay in 1998 to pursue his goal and failed miserably in his attempt to land a position there. In 2005, he eventually succeeded in landing a job as a server at an Indian restaurant in Shenzhen, China.
While working at the restaurant, a Chinese director spotted him, and in 2017, he was given a small part in the TV show SWAT. After that, his acting career took off, and Dev Raturi went on to appear in over 35 Chinese movies and TV shows, including some well-known ones like “My Roommate is a Detective,” in which he had a major part.
Apart from his acting career, he is also a prosperous businessman who owns eight restaurants in China.
From working as a milk boy for a salary of 50 RMB/ month to working as a director in a multi nationality hospitality chain for a salary of 35000 RMB/month and then starting his own chain of restaurants, it’s always been a roller coaster ride.
In 2005, he moved to China to work as a waiter in an Indian restaurant and worked for 2 years in Shenzhen. His first salary was just 1650 Yuan.
