He is the son of another professional footballer called Nelson Veiga, who played for clubs across Portugal, Cyprus and Morocco. Nelson made over 350 appearances throughout his career and played internationally for Cape Verde. Renato currently plays for Chelsea in the Premier League after singing for the Blues earlier this season.
