Campbell Wilson gives official statement on Air India Flight A171 crash
Following the recent tragic crash of Air India Flight AI171 in Ahmedabad, Air India CEO Campbell Wilson expressed his deep sorrow and stated:
Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of all those affected by this unimaginable tragedy. We are working closely with local authorities and emergency services to provide every possible support.”
He further added:
Safety has always been our top priority, and we are doing everything in our power to understand what went wrong and ensure it never happens again.”

Campbell Wilson biography
Campbell Wilson is the current CEO of Air India who was born in 1971 in Christchurch, New Zealand. Wilson grew up in a middle-class family and developed an early interest in travel and business. Wilson’s father worked in education while his mother was a homemaker. Ever since he was a young boy, Wilson showed a keen interest in global affairs and aviation, often collecting airline brochures and studying all kinds of maps.
He worked for Singapore Airlines for 26 years and during that time he worked his way into various senior roles, and founded Scoot, a low-cost subsidiary airline.
In mid-2022, he joined Air India, based in New Delhi.
