Calvin Lawrence Booth is an American basketball executive who was born on 7 May 1976 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, United States. Booth attended Groveport Madison High School and graduated from Penn State University. Before becoming an executive, Booth was a former professional basketball player. He is married to Keisha Booth and currently serves as the general manager of the Denver Nuggets and leading the franchise to their first ever finals this season.

Calvin Booth mostly played as a power forward or center during his playing career. He entered the NBA during the 1999 NBA Draft when the Wizards picked him as their sixth pick during the second round. He had a moderately successful NBA career with career averages of 3.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in just 366 games. Booth was more or less drawn to the intricacies and workings of the game and he often acted upon them.
One of his former teammates Antonio Daniels once stated about Booth saying:

Calvin Booth coaching career
Following the end of his playing career, Booth moved away the spotlight. He moonlighted as an AAU coach while also working for an independent scouting service on the side. Calvin was a true basketball globetrotter, moving all around the country across various programs.
His relationship with Connelly eventually grew and the two initially bonded in Washington where both men worked together. By 2017, Connelly was serving as the Denver’s team president while Booth was the franchise’s assistant GM.
By the time Connelly departed, Booth came in as the obvious replacement and immediately started making moves. He drafted Braun, signed Brown, and traded for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. These three moves added a steady offense and defensive versatility to a side that already had Joker and Murray. Although he came just a few votes shy of winning the Executive of the Year award, he holds the special distinction of leading the Nuggets to their first-ever NBA Finals.
