Marie Alvarado-Gil is an American educator and politician who was born on December 24, 1973, and she is currently 50 years old. She is a member of the California State Senate ever since 2022, and represents California’s 4th State Senate district. Although she got elected as a member of the Democratic Party, she eventually joined the Republican Party just last month on August 8, 2024.
She is a native Californian and is a local, hometown favorite in the Sierra Foothills and Central Valley regions which she serves.
Her parents immigrated to the US and worked in the service industry and Marie pursued her passion in livestock management by studying Animal Science at UC Davis before pivoting her education to raise her three children Justice, Anissa and Carmen in rural northern CA.
As a single parent, she grew her career in management and Marie returned to college mid-career and achieved both a Bachelor and Master degree in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco.
Marie lives in Amador County and she and her husband, Cesar, are parents to a blended family of six children and one grand baby.

California Senator accused of s*xual harassment and misconduct
A former chief of staff named Condit, accused Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil of s*xual harassment and misconduct. Condit is reportedly the son of former Congressman Gary Condit. In his lawsuit, he claimed that he faced unwanted sexual advances while serving as Marie’s chief of staff. Marie reportedly pressured Condit to perform explicit acts while travelling for work.
Condit also described their relationship as “quid pro quo,” and alleged that he often got physical injuries. In the lawsuit against the US Senator, Condit states how he sustained a serious back injury, which resulted in three herniated discs alongside a collapsed hip. Condit further explained how he Marie eventually fired him in December 2023 after he kept refusing her advances. Marie Alvarado-Gil retaliated against Condit and issued a disciplinary letter in August 2023, accusing him of inappropriate behaviour. Condit is currently seeking monetary damages for all the lost wages, and emotional distress that he had to undergo, as well as loss of employment benefits.

Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil responds
Following the accusations, Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil attorney, Ognian Gavrilov, came out with a response against Condit. Gavrilov called the claims as “outlandish” and financially motivated, while also denying any sort of wrongdoings. He further added:
We expect that the senator will be fully cleared of any wrongdoing of these bogus, financially motivated claims.”
