Katie Notopoulos is facing backlash online after her pro-nazi comment on the recently launched app Meta Threads. The controversy started on Thursday, July 6, 2023, when user @riff_n_ryan questioned the app’s makers:

Katie said, โEveryone is expected to treat others with respect and kindness here at Threads. That includes honouring a person’s decision to lead a Nazi lifestyle. All are welcome here.โ

Who is Katie Notopoulos?
With a degree in cinema studies and a minor in art history, Katie Notopoulos graduated from New York University. She previously spent nearly five years working on E-commerce for Warner Brothers while also being a well-known blogger.
She joined BuzzFeed in 2012 and currently works as a reporter covering tech news.
Katie Notopoulosโ Trolling Tweets
The tech blogger has been writing updates under the guise of Threads’ Editor in Chief since last Thursday. Here are a few of her tweets where she trolls everybody:

In order to pull off the ruse, Katie Notopoulos changed her LinkedIn profile to reflect that she was no longer employed by BuzzFeed and even mentioned Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in her posts. But Meta or Threads has yet to speak to her directly.
After it was discovered that her account had broken the app’s Community Guidelines, it was eventually suspended.
Social Media Platform Twitter Plans To Sue Threads
On Wednesday night, Threads became accessible to users in more than 100 countries.ย
The platform’s download rate made it the Most downloaded app. Several well-known Twitter users, including Bill Gates, Shakira, and Oprah Winfrey, joined the new app immediately.
Elon Musk’s personal attorney, Alex Spiro, threatened to sue Meta in a letter.ย
His statement read, โTwitter demands that Meta take immediate action to stop exploiting any Twitter trade secrets or other highly private information because it plans to vigorously enforce its intellectual property rights.โ
The letter also asserts that Meta “deliberately assigned” a number of ex-Twitter workers to work on Threads after hiring them.
Despite their claim, a company spokesman denied their allegations.
