Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the head of the Indian Wrestling Federation, addressed the charges of sexual harassment made against him by prominent female competitors, including Vinesh Phogat.
In a press conference earlier today, Vinesh Phogat made shocking accusations against the WFI’s senior executive, alleging that he and numerous head coaches have been harassing female wrestlers for years and have even threatened to kill her.

In addition, she said that when she tried to report the allegations of sexual harassment against the WFI president and head coaches, Brij Bhushan branded her “Khota Sikka” (useless) and threatened her life.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is a well-known Indian politician who is currently associated with the Bhartiya Janata Party. He has been in the news because many female wrestlers have leveled sexual harassment allegations against him.
He was born on January 8, 1957, in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, India. His father’s name is Shri Jagdamba Sharan Singh, and his mother’s name is Pyari Devi Singh.
He is married, and his wife’s name is Ketki Devi Singh. They are both the parents of two children, including Prateek Bhushan Singh.
He is currently 66 years old and is a Hindu by religion.

His career
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was a candidate for the BJP and won the election to the 10th Lok Sabha in 1991 from the Gonda seat in Uttar Pradesh. He was re-elected to the 13th Lok Sabha in 1999 from the same constituency, and in 2004, he was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha on the BJP ticket from the Balrampur constituency in UP.
He later joined the Samajwadi Party (SP) on July 20, 2008. He won re-election to the 15th Lok Sabha in 2009 from UP’s Kaiserganj. He later changed parties and is presently a BJP member of the 17th Lok Sabha. He presently serves as the Wrestling Federation of India’s president (WFI).
