Who is Brian Daboll?
Brian Daboll is a well-known Canadian-American football coach. He has been in the news because his team stunningly beat the Minnesota Vikings in the wild-card game on Sunday.
He was born on April 14, 1975, in Welland, Ontario, Canada. His grandparents reared him in the adjacent Buffalo, New York, the town of West Seneca.
He did his schooling at Saint Francis High School in Hamburg, New York. Later, he attended the University of Rochester, where he graduated with a degree in economics.
He is married, and his wife’s name is Beth Daboll, who is a registered nurse. They both are the parents of six children, whose names are Mark, Christian, Aiden, Haven, Avery, and Luke.
He is currently 47 years old with his height at 5 feet 8 inches.
According to public records, Dabol’s contract entered into force on February 20, 2017 and was due to last until February 29, 2020 at the University of Alabama. He was supposed to earn $1.2 million per year with the side. Brian’s salary with the Giants is not known while his net worth stands at $5 million.
His career
He was a football letterman in high school and college. Dave Caldwell, a future NFL front office official, and future coach Brian Polian were his colleagues at that time. He was a safety and a two-year starter in football at the University of Rochester.
In 1997, the College of William & Mary hired Brian Daboll as a restricted earnings coach. From 1998 to 1999, he worked as a graduate assistant for Nick Saban at Michigan State University.
At the age of 24, he joined the New England Patriots as a defensive coaching assistant in 2000, starting his NFL coaching career. Later, he held coaching positions with the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots (second stint), Alabama, and Buffalo Bills.
On January 28, 2022, Daboll was appointed as the 20th head coach of the New York Giants.
