On Wednesday, November 30, Salesforce announced that the entrepreneur, Bret Taylor would step down as co-CEO of the company which left its shares down by 5% in extended trading, know his net worth and salary

As per reports, the computer programmer, Bret Taylor also officially announced that he will be stepping down as the co-chief executive officer of the brand on January 31.

As per a statement by the company, the role of the CEO will now be taken by philanthropist, Marc Benioff.

Taylor co-founded the cloud software company back in 1999. His exit will now reportedly lead co-CEO, Marc Benioff along at the top.

As per reports, Taylor played a key role in the largest transaction of the brand which was around $27.1 billion.

In his statement on Wednesday, Taylor stated while describing his experience at Salesforce as, “I am grateful for six fantastic years at Salesforce.”

He further added, “Marc was my mentor well before I joined Salesforce and the opportunity to partner with him to lead the most important software company in the world is career-defining.”

Taylor’s Career

The husband of Karen Padham had completed a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University as well as a Master’s degree in Computer Science back in 2002 and 2003 respectively.

In the same year, he was hired by Google as an Associate Product Manager. During his time at the company, he co-created Google maps and left the biggest brand in June 2007 to join with a Capital firm, Benchmark Capital.

After a while, with some other former Google employees, Taylor founded a social networking website, FriendFeed and became the CEO of the site until August 2009.

The company was finally acquired by Facebook and Taylor also joined the social media platform and became the CTO of the brand in 2010.

However, in 2012, he left Facebook and created Quip, a competitor to Google docs. Eventually, Quip was acquired by Salesforce in 2016. Following a year, he was named as the Chief Product Officer at Salesforce.

In the same year, Twitter appointed Taylor as the board of directors.

Last year, he managed to become the chairman of the company, a position which he held until the entire board of directors was dissolved in October 2022 by Elon Musk.

Bret married Karen Padham Taylor in 2016. The duo met through an APM program of Google. They shared 3 children together.
