Gunn started out in 2006 as the Director of Global Client Services APAC at GAIN Capital’s Forex.com, up until 2013. Following which he became the CEO of Invast Financial Services (now 26 Degrees) from 2013 up until 2015. Brendan Gunn facing crypto fraud charges
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) recently charged Brendan Gunn with various offenses related to handling funds suspected to be proceeds of crime and with crypto fraud. The allegations relate to several of his activities between March 19 and May 15, 2020. The ASIC asserted that Gunn dealt with two bank cheques totaling $181,000, which represented investments from three individuals seeking cryptocurrency conversion services.
Gunn reportedly opened multiple bank accounts to manage these deposits and facilitate ongoing transactions. Despite several banks repeatedly closing these accounts due to concerns of potential scams, he kept opening new accounts. As a result, his pattern of behavior drew scrutiny from various regulatory authorities, leading to the current charges.
