Rebeca Rodrigues de Andrade is a Brazilian artistic gymnast who was born on May 8, 1999 in Guarulhos, State of São Paulo, Brazil. She is currently 25 years old as of 2024. Andrade had a tough childhood, growing up in a family of eight children and a single mother. Her mother Rosa Santos, worked as a house cleaner and walked to work to pay for Rebeca’s gymnastics training.
Rebeca began her journey in gymnastics when she was just four years old and by the age of nine, she moved to train in Curitiba. Just one year later, she moved to Rio de Janeiro to train at Flamengo. She has so far won a total of 13 Olympic and World medals and she is currently the most decorated Brazilian and Latin American gymnast of all time.
Rebeca Andrade is the first Brazilian female gymnast to win a medal at an Olympic Games and just the second Brazilian woman to win gold at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She is also one of only 11 female gymnasts to have won a medal on every event in the history of World Championships.

Career and achievements
She gained prominence at the junior level after winning the 2012 Junior Pan American in the all-around, vault and floor exercise. Two years later, she won the 2014 Junior Pan American on the vault, uneven bars, and balance beam. Following a successful junior career, Andrade made her senior debut in 2015 but suffered a setback when she experienced her first ACL tear.
She eventually made a return and represented Brazil at the 2016 Summer Olympics. However, she suffered a second ACL tear in 2017, but managed to make her World Championships debut in 2018. After suffering a third ACL tear in 2019, Andrade represented Brazil at the 2020 Summer Olympics and then the 2021 World Championships. She managed to win the vault gold medal at both events.
Rebeca Andrade then won the all-around event during the 2022 World champion, and won two Olympic silver medals (2020, 2024) in the same event. She also won the silver medal in 2023 World, and the 2021 Pan American champion. On the vault she won the 2020 Olympic champion, won the World Championships twice (2021, 2023), and won the 2023 Pan American Games.
