Video footage from the event seemed to indicate that the expensive cut; which needed fifteen stitches; was caused by an unintentional elbow.

 

Following the release of a photo of Fury’s injured eye by his camp, social media users started to see footage of the actual incident. Frank Warren, Fury’s promoter, joined talkSPORT on Friday after the news leaked, confirming that the damage was actually caused by an elbow. He stated:

The highly awaited fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, which was originally set for February 17th, has been rescheduled as a result. The new date of the fight is May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
