He was born and brought up in Chhur, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. Despite coming from a humble middle-class background, he made a lasting impression on the bodybuilding community.
In a family of nine, where his father and brother bore the weight of providing, Anuj Taliyan’s dreams seemed bound by circumstance. However, destiny had different ideas, directing his interest from bodybuilding to wrestling—a route that would finally lead to glory.
While fighting, Taliyan had two goals in mind: he wanted to be a bodybuilder, and he wanted to enlist in the Indian Army, as his older brother had. Fortunately, he became a havaldar in the army.
Anuj Kumar Taliyan is an Indian Army Havildar from the Madras Engineer Group. He was born in November 1985 and is aged 39 with his height at 6 feet. He was a lower middle class boy hailing from ‘chhur’ a small village in northern India. He is married and has children but the names of his family members aren’t known.

His career
Anuj Taliyan is among India’s most prosperous bodybuilders, as he has won several international and national championships. After serving for just nine months in the army, Taliyan earned his first taste of triumph in 2012 when he was crowned Mr. Karnataka.
In November 2019, he took home the gold medal at the 11th World Bodybuilding Championships, which took place on Jeju Island, South Korea.
He has taken home the title of Mr. India in the 12th National Body Building Championship in 2018. Additionally, he took home a gold medal at the Maldives-hosted 54th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships in 2022.
