Several well-known candidates, such as former chief minister Vasundhara Raje, union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Rajasthan BJP chief CP Joshi, and members of parliament Mahant Balaknath, Diya Kumari, and Rajyavardhan Rathore, also prevailed in the elections. Who is Kirodi Lal Meena?
Kirodi Lal Meena is an Indian politician associated with the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). He has been in the news because he has emerged as a contender in the CM race in Rajasthan.
He is famously known as Kirodi Baba, especially in East Rajasthan. He was born on 3 November 1951 ,in Dausa, Rajasthan, India. His father’s name is Manohar Lal Meena, and his mother’s name is Foola Devi.
Kirodi Lal Meena is married, and his wife’s name is Golma Devi Meena.
He is currently 72 years old.
His career
Having served in many Rajasthan Legislative Assemblies and Lok Sabha sessions, Kirodi Lal Meena has an extensive political career. His political journey spans the 8th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th Rajasthan Legislative Assemblies, along with stints in the 9th and 15th Lok Sabha.
However, despite being a staunch Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member, Kirodi Lal Meena briefly departed from the party in 2008, only to rejoin in 2018. He was in charge of the crucial portfolios of food and civil supplies while serving as a cabinet minister.
He is a member of the Rajya Sabha at the moment, demonstrating his wide range of expertise in government. Recently, he won the Rajasthan Vidhan elections from the Sawai Madhopur constituency.
