Vidhya Rani was born in Salem, Tamil Nadu on 30 October, 1990. She is 5ft 5in tall. As of 2024, Vidhya is 33 years old.
Born into challenging circumstances, Vidhya Rani’s childhood was marked by adversity. She entered the world in a jail and tragically became an orphan at the tender age of 13. She has a sister named Prabha.
Raised by her mother, Muthulakshmi, Vidhya’s family background was further complicated by her father’s notorious reputation as Veerappan, a bandit turned domestic terrorist.
Despite these challenges, Vidhya remained resilient and determined to carve out her own path in life. Despite the obstacles in her way, Vidhya Rani pursued her education with unwavering determination.

She attended the St. Joseph Residential School in Seriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, before furthering her studies at Women’s Christian College in Chennai. Later, she obtained a BA LLB degree from VV Puram Law College in Bangalore.
Her commitment to education was evident in her decision to forgo admission to medical school, despite cracking the pre-medical test, in pursuit of her goal to crack the UPSC CSE (Union Public Service Commission – Civil Services Examination).
She was married to Mariya Deepak but now the couple has parted ways. The two were married from 2009-2011. Deepak and Vidhya also have a son and a daughter together. Her upbringing in a missionary environment, coupled with the pressure to convert to Christianity added to the complexities of her personal journey.
Vidhya Rani career
Vidhya Rani gained recognition in Krishnagiri for running a free tuition centre aimed at supporting children from deprived sections of society. Her commitment to education and empowerment earned her widespread admiration in the region.
Additionally, Vidhya’s meeting with Pon Radhakrishnan, a senior BJP leader, two years prior to joining the party signaled her interest in politics and her desire to contribute to public service.
