Tajinder Bagga, a BJP leader whose remarks have frequently caused controversy, has joined the Bigg Boss reality show.

At the Sunday night grand premiere of the 18th season of Bigg Boss, host Salman Khan revealed Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga’s admission into the house. The 38-year-old Bagga is a member of the ‘Yuva Morcha’ youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Prior to leading the group’s Uttarakhand branch, he was the BJP Yuva Morcha’s national secretary.

38-year-old Tajinder Bagga was born on 24 September 1985 to Preetpal Singh and Kamaljit Kaur. In 2017, he graduated from National Defense University (Republic of China), Taiwan, with a Diploma in National Development Course.

School dropout Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga who was made the Delhi BJP spokesperson in 2017, had mentioned in the affidavit that he is pursuing Bachelor Preparatory Programme from IGNOU in his election affidavit when he fought the Delhi elections and lost from Hari Nagar.

This programme is offered by the university to students who wish to do a bachelor’s degree from IGNOU but do not have the essential qualification of having passed 12th.

He is single and unmarried but was dating a Brahmin Hindu girl earlier.

Tajinder Bagga career

Tajinder Bagga entered the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as a teenager and has been involved in politics for a long time. In 2011, he founded the Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena, an organisation he said was fighting corruption. When he struck Supreme Court advocate Prashant Bhushan and interrupted novelist Arundhati Roy’s book launch, he attracted a lot of media attention.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi entered office in 2014, Bagga’s profile increased even more. When Prime Minister Modi paid him a visit at home in 2015, he acknowledged Bagga’s growing popularity on social media, which earned him the moniker “Twitter troll” for inciting controversy.

His tweets have often sparked controversy. He made fun of actress Swara Bhaskar in 2018 for a scene from the movie “Veere Di Wedding.” He criticized Deepika Padukone in 2020 for standing by Jawaharlal Nehru University students following a violent event. Additionally, he has been vocal in his criticism of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal.

Raj Kumari Dhillon, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, defeated Bagga in the 2020 Delhi assembly elections. His path to politics has not been without difficulties. He was taken into custody by Punjab police in 2022 after a prominent member of the AAP charged him with uttering provocative remarks. Nevertheless, the case against him was ultimately dropped by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
