Early Life
Her educational journey includes attending Modern School in New Delhi, G.D. Somani Memorial School in Mumbai, and Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ Public School in Jaipur.
She holds a Graduate Diploma in Fine Art (Decorative Painting) from the Chelsea School of Arts in London (1989) and an Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy from Amity University, Jaipur.
Known for managing various properties, businesses, trusts, and schools, Diya Kumari is considered a billionaire. Her portfolio includes City Palace in Jaipur, Jaigarh Fort in Amber, and two trusts: Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust and the Jaigarh Public Charitable Trust.

Diya Kumari’s late father, Bhawani Singh, contested the 1989 Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket from Jaipur but was defeated by the BJP candidate. Her step-grandmother, Gayatri Devi, a former queen of Jaipur, had been elected as an MP three times in 1962, 1967, and 1971.
On September 10, 2013, in the presence of then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Rajnath Singh, and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Diya Kumari joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
She contested and won the 2013 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election as a BJP candidate from Sawai Madhopur, becoming an MLA. In 2019, she was elected as a Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha from Rajsamand.

Diya Kumari, a mother of three, had two sons, Padmanabh Singh and Lakshraj Prakash Singh, and a daughter, Gauravi Kumari, from her marriage to Narendra Singh. This union, unconventional in royal circles, ended in divorce in December 2018.
