Balak Nath Leading?

According to real-time updates from the Tijara assembly seat, Balak Nath is currently leading against Congress’s Imran Khan. Known for his assertive statements, Balak Nath likened his contest against Imran Khan in Tijara to an India-Pakistan cricket match.

In an exit poll conducted earlier on December 1, Balak Nath emerged as a surprising choice for the chief minister among Rajasthan voters surveyed. The BJP has not officially endorsed any candidate for the chief minister’s post in Rajasthan, while the Congress is rallying under Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

Exit Poll Indicates?

The exit poll indicated that 10% of those surveyed favored Balak Nath as the next Rajasthan Chief Minister. Gehlot topped the list with 32% supporting him for the role, while 21% expressed openness to any BJP leader.

Balak Nath has presented himself as the Adityanath of Rajasthan, utilizing imagery associated with UP’s Yogi Adityanath, such as bulldozers. Yogi Adityanath has actively supported Balak Nath, accompanying him during the nomination filing and participating in his campaign.

Who is Mahant Balaknath?

Wearing saffron robes like Yogi Adityanath, the 39-year-old Balak Nath hails from the same Nath sect. He refers to the UP chief minister as his “elder brother.”

Balaknath contested against Congress’s Imran Khan in Tijara, a seat in the Muslim Meo-dominated Mewat region bordering Haryana. The BJP MP faced initial differences, particularly from BJP MLA Maman Singh, the previous representative from Tijara, who later reconciled and campaigned for Balaknath.

Mahant Balak Nath, holding a Class 12 education, disclosed assets of around 14 lakh in his bank account in the affidavit filed for the Tijara assembly election. He is the eighth mahant from the Mastnath Mutt of Rohtak, the largest establishment of the Nath sect, managing educational institutions and hospitals.

Born in a Yadav family in Behrod village in 1984, Balak Nath, the sole child of his parents, entered an ascetic life at the age of six under Mahant Khetanath. Later, he became the disciple of Mahant Vhand Nath, who named him Balak Nath and declared him his successor in 2016.

Tijara, with 2.61 lakh voters, including approximately one lakh Muslims, is witnessing a battle for both victory and “voting percentage,” as emphasized by Balak Nath. The outcome of this election will determine if Balak Nath emerges victorious from Tijara and the corresponding vote percentage he secures.
