Mavelikkara Additional District Judge V. G. Sreedevi gave the death sentence and described the occurrence as “unusual political murder.” The attack’s brutality was underscored by the court decision, which said that the victim’s body was targeted in areas where even a single hit may have been fatal.

The macabre nature of the crime was further accentuated by the perpetrators denuding the lower part of the victim’s body, reflecting a disturbing element of perversity. The court noted that the meticulously planned assault, executed by 12 individuals in conspiracy with three others, was a pre-meditated act of violence.
