A farmer, Biju Kurian, who was part of a 28-member team, led by Principal Secretary of the agriculture dept of Kerala, that went to learn about foreign farming methods, absconded from Israel on February 17.

He disappeared on February 17, the day before the team was supposed to depart for Kerala from Israel. The state government brought Kurian’s disappearance to the center’s attention. This sparked an immediate response from the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv. Subsequently, the Israel government carefully investigated the matter.
