Matt Freeman is a basketball player who was born on December 9, 1997 in Auckland, New Zealand and the 26-year-old who plays as a power forward for SCM U Craiova of the Romanian Liga Nationala stands 2.07 m (6 ft 9 in) tall.
Freemam completed his high-school from Westlake Boys High School and college from Oklahoma (2016–2019), UC Santa Barbara (2019–2020). He enrolled to the University of Oklahoma in January of 2016. He played for the Sooners for three seasons between 2016 and 2019.

He moved to UC Santa Barbara on 2019 of April. He played collegiate basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners and the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos. He scored 9.4 points per game on average for the Gauchos in 2019–20 as a senior.
In December 2020, Freeman moved to Germany to become a professional player with Gladiators Trier of the ProA. He was unable to play in the 2021 New Zealand NBL season with the Franklin Bulls due to an injury.
Freeman joined PS Karlsruhe Lions in September 2021 to play in the 2021–2022 ProA season. He later moved to Eisbaren Bremerhaven for the 2022-2023 season. He then committed to play for the Franklin Bulls for the remainder of the 2023 New Zealand NBL season on May 22, 2023.
Last year in August, he signed with SCM U Craiova of the Romanian Liga Nationala. Talking about his international career, he has represented New Zealand in 2013 FIBA Oceania U16 Championship and the 2014 FIBA Oceania U18 Championship.
