After the murder of Ayush Thakur and Ahan Thakur, the Uttar Pradesh Police quickly confronted Mohd Sheikh, the accused, and he was killed in the encounter. Mohammad Sajid is a 22-year-old barber whose shop is located near the boys’ residence in Baba Colony, Civil Line police station area, in Badaun. Sajid was married and his father and uncle have now been arrested. His mother has justified the killing of her son by the UP Police for his actions.

Sajid had demanded ₹5,000 from the father of the deceased children and the FIR said, “The accused Sajid told my wife that he wanted money as his wife was about to deliver a child. When she went inside to take money, he said that he was feeling unwell and wanted to go for a walk on the terrace and took my sons with him. He also called his brother Javed to the terrace. When my wife returned, she saw Sajid and Javed with a knife in their hands. Sajid also tried to attack my surviving son and he sustained injuries. Both were running away and Sajid told my wife that today he had completed his work.”
Vinod Singh, the victims’ father, works as a contractor while Sangeeta, their mother, owns a beauty salon. Around 7:30 p.m., according to Badaun SSP Alok Priyadarshi, the accused Sajid entered the home. Vinod Singh was allegedly at the market at the time and his wife was at her beauty salon. The boys and their paternal grandma were at home.
Piyush aged 6 sustained minor injuries and was able to escape but the other two boys Aayush and Aahan didn’t survive the incident. Sajid killed them by slitting their throats with Sajid killed by the UP Police in an encounter while his brother Javed who was also involved in the murders is on the run.
