Age 67-year-old Sadi Mohammad, a famous singer known for Rabindra Sangeet was found dead in his home’s music room
Law enforcement suspects that Sadi Mohammad might have chosen to end his own life. Sadi’s brother, Shibli Mohammad revealed that Sadi died at their home in Mohammadpur around 7pm on Wednesday. Shibli was not able to give more information because he was upset.

Inspector Tofazzal Hosen of Mohammadpur Police Station disclosed, “The hanging body of Sadi Mohammad was found in the room where he used to sing at his home. It appears to be a case of suicide.”

Furthermore, the law enforcement official elaborated that the tragic event took place around 7pm. When Sadi’s family members were not able to contact him, they forcefully entered his house and discovered his body hanging in his music room.
Shamim Ara Nipa who is a dance artist close to the family mentioned that the body was taken to the hospital. Nipa expressed disbelief and revealed that they didn’t know he was suffering so much. The loss of such a good person has left them speechless.
She asked everyone to pray for Sadi. Later in the night, Shibli, an award-winning dance artist, announced that Sadi would be buried at Taj Mahal Road graveyard after funeral prayers at the local mosque following Zuhr prayers.
He also mentioned that the body wouldn’t be taken to the Central Shaheed Minar for people to say goodbye. Around 10pm, dance artist Snata Shahrin, actor Shatabdi Wadud, and theatre director Pantha Shahriar were among those who visited the house to offer condolences and support to the grieving family.

Sadi Mohammad was born on 4 October 1957. Among his nine siblings were dancer Shibli Mohammad and actor Shameem Mohammad. Salimullah, his father was killed in 1971 during Bangladesh’s Liberation War.
After the death of Sadi Mohammad’s mother Zebunnesha Salimullah, 96, on 8 July, 2023 the singer was not mentally stable.
Sadi Mohammad earned his post-graduate degree from Visva Bharati University in West Bengal, India. He gained recognition as a composer with his 2007 album “Amake Khunje Pabe Bhorer Shishire”.
He released albums titled “Shrabon Akashe” in 2009 and “Sarthok Jonom Amar” in 2012. Sadi also sang in movies and TV shows as a playback singer. He served as the director of the musical organization called Robi Raag. In 2012, he received the Channel i Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2015, he won the Bangla Academy Rabindra Puroskar.
In recent years, he had reduced his public appearances. His family said he became even more withdrawn after his mother, Jebunnesa, passed away in July last year.
