Tanisha Crasto, then five years old, took up a badminton racquet for the first time at Dubai’s Etisalat Academy. She wasn’t old enough to grasp the subtleties of the game. Tanisha was destined for greater things, and to step up her game, she moved from Dubai to India in 2017, away from her parents.
In junior events, Crasto made her international debut for Bahrain in 2013 in the doubles and mixed doubles category. She went on to win her first significant BWF international championship at the 2016 Bahrain International Challenge event. She moved to India to represent Goa in Indian tournaments in 2018 after competing in Gulf-based competitions.
In 2021, Crasto joined the Indian badminton national squad and participated in the Sudirman Cup and Uber Cup. In the mixed doubles competition at the 2021 Scottish Open, she and Ishaan Bhatnagar came in second.
Crasto participated in her first BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament at the India Open in 2022. At her next tournament, the 2022 Syed Modi International, she participated in the mixed doubles division, where she and Ishaan Bhatnagar won their first-ever Super 300 title.
