The suspect in the Southport stabbing case has been identified as Axel Muganwa Rudakubana a Christian by religion
On Thursday, August 1, in an unusual move, a British court named the 17-year-old suspect in Southport stabbing rampage that left 3 children dead and 8 injured earlier this week.
This came in the midst of the hearing when Judge Andrew Menary lifted the legal restriction on naming the accused after hearing submissions that he is just days away from his 18th birthday on August 7.

As per the court documents, the suspect in the case is identified as Axel Muganwa Rudakubana, who appeared in a court in Liverpool to face 3 counts of murder, 10 counts of attempted murder, and possession of a knife.

The minor male is a suspect charged with the murder over the fatal stabbing of 3 young girls in northwest England. He was named by the authorities on Thursday, after restrictions were lifted in court by the Judge Andrew Menary.
About Axel Muganwa Rudakubana
Although there isn’t much information available about the teenager, however, reports reveals that he is from a nearby village of Banks in Lancashire and was arrested soon after the attack on Monday.

Axel’s father Alphonse Rudakubana travelled a long road to achieve his black belt in Shotokan Karate and began his training in his native Rwanda in 1996, studying sport Karate for around three years and taking his first belts there before moving to the UK in 2002.
Based in Cardiff Alphonse resumed his karate training in 2002, training with the Welsh Shotokan Karate Union in three different clubs and progressing through to brown belt by 2010.
Axel Muganwa Rudakubana, was born in Cardiff, Wales on August 7, 2006 to Rwandan Christian parents, who moved to Southport area in 2013. He has been living in Lancashire, a few miles north of Southport and had an elder brother as well.
17 year old Rudakubana who was a part of a musical theatre group would accompany his father to karate classes as a child, sensei Chico Mbakwe, an instructor in Cardiff, said and he was said to have appeared in a musical at the Shaftesbury Theatre in the West End.
His family moved to the Southport area around 2013 and lived in a semi-detached property in a quiet cul-de-sac in Banks.
Following his arrest, riots and violence took place in Southport after many became the victims of false claims and false rumors that flooded the social media platforms especially X /Twitter.

One of the bizarre claims that went viral was that the suspect in the case is an asylum seeker, another false news that went viral claimed that Axel Muganwa Rudakubana is an undocumented migrant.
In the aftermath of these violent protests, authorities apprehended at least 111 people for offended including violent disorder, assault on police officials, possessions of knives and offensive weapons amongst various others.
Despite controlling the situation, more than 50 police officials were reportedly injured as demonstrators threw bricks at mosque, set cars on fire, attacked the police and damaged various convenience store.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift fans have raised over £325,000 ($417,000) to help victims’ families for the hospital bills where some of the children were being treated.
