Chelsea have agreed a £38.6million deal to sign defender Axel Disasi from AS Monaco after being sought after by Mauricio Pochettino to replace first-choice centre back Wesley Fofana, who is anticipated to miss some time with an ACL injury. Disasi, who won promotion with Reims in 2018, played every league game for Monaco last year and has been a consistent in the French top division ever since.
The defender joined Stade Louis-II for £12 million in 2020, and Adi Hutter named him vice-captain of the team last year after he established himself as a significant member of the team.

Disasi made his professional debut for Paris FC on December 11, 2016, in a 1-0 loss to Lens. He is a product of the club’s youth academy. In 2016, he was transferred to Reims.
On August 7, 2020, Disasi finalized a €13 million transfer from Reims to Monaco. He approved to a five-year agreement with the club. On August 23, Disasi faced his former squad Reims on his Ligue 1 debut. His goal made it 2-2 and tied the game.
