Kayaker Ava Renee Moore passed away after being hit by a Venezuelan fugitive
The lady Daikerlyn Alejandra Gonzalez who is suspected of killing an 18-year-old kayaker Ava Renee Moore on Grapevine Lake on Sunday is now in custody.
Over Memorial Day weekend, Daikerlyn Alejandra Gonzalez is charged with hitting and murdering a kayaker named Ava Renee Moore at Grapevine Lake. It’s unknown if Gonzalez has hired a lawyer to represent her. Grapevine police and Texas Game Wardens said on Tuesday that they had arrested the woman.
Police say 21-year-old Daikerlyn Alejandra Gonzalez Gonzalez struck Moore with her jet ski, then fled the scene in a vehicle with another Venezuelan illegal alien, 21-year-old Maikel Coello Perozo, and they hit another car while fleeing.

Ava Renee Moore was struck by two ladies on a personal watercraft on Sunday while kayaking in Grapevine Lake, according to investigators. The two women were gone by the time emergency personnel arrived. Media was shown footage of multiple individuals attempting to administer first aid while removing Moore from the sea.
Age 18 Ava Moore was a 2024 graduate of Timber Creek High School in Keller and trained for the Air Force Academy with her also being a basketball player.

Ava Renee Moore was spending the Memorial Day weekend at Grapevine Lake, about 32 miles northwest of Dallas, on Sunday when the incident took place and she sustained a severe head trauma injury, was pulled to shore and taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
Ava was on break from school in Colorado and visiting her parents, who live in North Texas.

Moore passed away from serious traumatic injuries, despite the attempts of first responders and witnesses to save his life.
Brenden Bouyer, a friend from middle school who graduated with Moore from Keller Timber View High School in 2024, described her as tenacious, fiercely independent, and passionate about uniting people.
Moore was a talented basketball player who was adored by her coaches and teammates, who are now shocked and devastated.
Moore recently received an appointment to join the US Air Force Academy as a member of the Class of 2029 after completing ten months of study at the US Air Force Academy Preparatory School in Colorado Springs. Moore graduated on May 19.

Ava graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School on May 19, 2025, and had accepted an appointment to join the Academy as a member of the Class of 2029 and was also set to join the Women’s Basketball team.

Ava’s constant happiness and attitude helped her squadron get through the challenges of the Prep School, and her drive to excel was on display as she sought out leadership positions to improve herself and her team,” said Lt. Gen.
At the USAFA prep school, Moore got to know coach Ke’Sha Blanton. The news of Moore’s passing, according to Blanton, was absolutely terrible.
She recalled Moore as a dedicated worker who was also trustworthy, loyal, humorous, and driven. She claimed that prior to beginning basic training at the US Air Force Academy, Moore was at home having fun.
